In March 2016, MineARC was honoured to have been invited to attend a reception at the residence of the Australian Ambassador for Vietnam, the Honourable Hugh Borrowman. Kane Read, MineARC Business Development Manager for South-East Asia, travelled to Vietnam for the exclusive function.

His Excellency Nguyen Linh Ngoc, Vice Minister for the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, presented an outlook on mining and investment in the region. He also discussed the possibility of prospective partnerships with Australian METS companies.

While he was in the country, Kane also joined Danka Minerals Chairman Mr Công Sử Nguyễn, Hunternet Mission, and Austrade representatives at the Mining Vietnam Exhibition and Conference. MineARC is focused on developing positive relationships with industry bodies across the world, and the conference provided an opportunity to meet with the Chairman of Vinacomin – Mr Le Minh Chuan and the Chairman of the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce – Mr Vu Tien Loc, to discuss a collaborative effort in moving towards a safer mining industry in Vietnam.

MineARC has recently released its latest CoalSAFE Refuge Chamber model – the International High Seam Design – which was well received across Vietnam during Kane’s visit to the region. In consultation with numerous mining companies, MineARC has expanded its range to include this new model, which has been designed to suit various underground coal mining environments. The chamber’s innovative, intrinsically safe design provides powerless life-support systems, including CO/CO2 scrubbing and air-conditioning.

A significant feature of the CoalSAFE International High Seam Design is a fully pressurised internal airlock designed to secure a staging area between the outside environment and the enclosed protection of the refuge. In addition, the airlock features a pneumatic flushing system that ensures the outflow of air’ preventing contaminants’ ingress while the door is open during entry.

The MineARC CoalSAFE is typically available in 12, 16 and 20 person configurations. However, it can be custom designed to client specifications.
