For the second year running, MineARC Systems recently sponsored the Zambia Mines Rescue Competition. The Final took place in Kafue Gorge in Southern Zambia from July 25 to 28, 2017. MineARC were invited to sponsor the event by the President of the Zambia Mines Rescue Association, Mr Maron Chongo. MineARC sponsored trophies and shields for 1st and 2nd place teams and team members and a legacy trophy for the winners, including engraving plates for the years to come.

Divann Miles, MineARC Africa’s Production Supervisor, represented MineARC at the prize-giving ceremony. Divann presented a short speech regarding mine safety, MineARC’s commitment to improving the health and safety standards within the mining, tunnelling, chemical processing, disaster relief, emergency services industries worldwide, and the pride MineARC feels Zambia is emphasising mine safety.

The winners of the 2017 Zambia Mines Rescue Final were Team Mopani Mufulira. Mopani Copper Mines PLC recognises the importance of safety on site and has acquired twelve MineARC MineSAFE Refuge Chambers this year. They were also the first site in Africa to order our GuardIAN Refuge Chamber Monitoring.
