Cold Climate Toilet - EnviroLAV
The Cold Climate EnviroLAV combines comfort with practical design and benefits from the renowned innovations of the self-contained, portable Dual EnviroLAV toilet. The Cold Climate Toilet also features an added R-28 insulation and multiple heating sources to keep all systems working in even the most extreme conditions.
Designed to be simple to operate and maintain, the EnviroLAV is a semi-permanent structure that can be used wherever there is access to compressed air or electricity.
The EnviroLAV can last up to 12 months before emptying is required, based on standard usage in optimal conditions; delivering a substantial cost saving over the long term when compared to other portable toilet options.
The EnviroLAV’s structure consists of latrine facilities mounted on top of a miniature biological treatment plant. Waste matter is deposited directly into the treatment tank and is fully isolated throughout the process.
MineARC’s biodegradable, non-toxic EnviroZYME solution works to break down the matter with every flush, involving no handling of hazardous chemicals at any stage. The efficiency of the EnviroZYME solution ensures the system emits a minimum effluent odour and the waste treatment process causes minimal environmental impact.
MineARC was selected as the winner of the 2014 Australian Prospect Award for Excellence in Mine Safety, for the development of a safer sustainable waste management system for underground. Since then, the EnviroLAV has been embraced by mine sites around the globe due to its innovative design and unique solution to waste management in the industry.

Internal Radiant HeatersThe 17+ ft² (1.6m2) area is heated by ceiling-mounted radiant heat panels to quickly warm internal objects and supply continual heat to the floor panel to aid in evaporation.
Flushing Tank Heater
The 85-gallon (320L) flushing tank located inside the toilet features an integrated flushing tank heater to pre-heat the sink and toilet water. The tank contains a float valve that automatically opens to refill whenever the water drops below a specified level and ensures there will always be an ample supply of heated water for high-use applications.
The fully insulated, 370-gallon (1,400L) waste tank contains an in-line adjustable heating element used to pre-heat the air before that is supplied. The system provides the necessary warmth required for the evaporation process. The agitation of the water and the heat ensure that the wastewater doesn’t freeze or kill the bacteria needed for the breakdown of waste.
