Commissioning

Commissioning is a quality-focused process necessary to ensure the site is critically equipped for an emergency. The process involves ensuring that the refuge chamber remains in perfect working condition, following delivery and installation.

Occurring at the time of install is critical, on occasion, a chamber may not be placed underground upon immediate arrival to the site. Commissioning upon installation ensures the chamber is connected and positioned correctly, meeting the safety requirements of MineARC systems, site, and an active emergency response plan.

Commissioning addresses the following critical areas:

> Verify correct installation of a refuge chamber at each unique mine site
> Improve employee understanding and coordination of maintenance
> Ensure efficiency and effectiveness of a refuge chamber
> Certify the refuge chamber is emergency ready

MineARC Representatives are available to provide commissioning services to all sites.

Troubleshooting

Our team is on hand to provide step-by-step assistance to isolate problem areas and support your team with the resources and information needed.

Troubleshooting equipment can be addressed through monitoring technology, utilising MineARC’ expertise or upskilling technician through our Service School.

  • Remote Monitoring Refuge Chambers

Remote monitoring and diagnostics systems provide automated insights into the behaviour of refuge chambers. The GuardIAN Refuge Chamber Monitoring System is an independent system that continuously monitors a chamber’s vital operating systems. By observing these critical components in real-time, the source of a problem, which may otherwise be difficult to detect, can be more easily identified and rectified.

  • Utilising MineARC’s Expertise

MineARC’s engineers and skilled service technicians can if permissions are granted, remotely view refuge chamber data, through GuardIAN, to assist with problem-solving. Help is available to assist maintenance personnel with problems that have yet to be identified, providing peace of mind. Although off-site, staff can contact a MineARC expert, who can obtain data from GuardIAN through shared screenshots or remotely accessing the network, and apply their knowledge to the shared information to identify a solution. Remotely accessing the data provided by GuardIAN is shown to reduce maintenance costs dramatically.

If you require assistance or have a query contact our service team.
