MineARC was pleased to be a design finalist for the Multi-Service Vehicle Refuge Chamber ITA Tunnelling Awards, 2016.

The TunnelSAFE Multi-Service Vehicle Refuge Chamber, the latest in our extensive range of safe refuge options for the tunnelling industry, was recognised for its innovative design and the first of its kind in the world.

On 11th November 2016, China Business Development Manager Davy Li attended the technical conference and awards dinner and 30 other finalists. He had the opportunity to present to the industry the Multi-Service Vehicle Refuge Chamber ITA finalist.

The TunnelSAFE MSV Design is an alternative to MineARC’s Rail Design based on industry demand. The TunnelSAFE MSV chamber can be mounted to a multi-service vehicle and fitted with the client’s remote control system, allowing the vehicle operation from within the refuge chamber. In addition, the chamber’s mounting points are custom engineered to match the client’s MSV, allowing easy bolt-on installation.

The standard TunnelSAFE MSV range is fully compliant with ITA, British Standards, and EN 16191 Guidelines. Optional features include the ability to customise the chamber’s shape, capacity, and internal layout. MineARC also offers a range of upgrades and unique features such as a temperature control misting system, high ambient air conditioning and digital fixed gas monitoring.

The TunnelSAFE MSV Design has already been adopted by several projects across Europe, including the Brenner Base Tunnel in Austria and the Lyon-Turin Project in France. These refuge chambers are positioned on-site, ready for use in the event of an emergency.
